The group is headquartered in Switzerland and was founded in 2019 with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation. Connie Collingsworth is responsible for leading a significant portion of the Foundation`s operational needs, including information technology, human resources, law, global security, grants and contract services, and overall business design. In this role, she oversees much of the Foundation`s day-to-day operations, providing advice and leading strategic planning for each department to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness in support of the Foundation`s missions. She is also the Foundation`s Legal Director. Lauren Bright is General Counsel and Director of the Foundation`s Washington, D.C. office Lauren joined the Foundation in 2005 and held several positions before becoming General Counsel.

His responsibilities include overseeing the legal department and a wide range of legal, regulatory and policy issues affecting the foundation. In addition, she leads the overall operations of the Foundation`s Washington, D.C. office, which provides support and services to more than 120 regional employees. Direct experience in leading and providing general advice to clients in general and cross-border legal and commercial matters in India, with knowledge of grant-making and other investment instruments in the field of philanthropy further. Support the education and training of Foundation staff in legal matters and, where appropriate, fellows and partners. Structure, negotiate and draft legal documents related to the Foundation`s investments, including grants, contracts and complex collaborations to advance the Foundation`s charitable strategies. Members of the legal team represent the entire foundation, and the legal team provides creative solutions that support the achievement of the foundation`s goals, develops and implements effective legal processes to streamline the foundation`s investment practices, and applies preventative legal strategies and policies to manage risk and protect the foundation`s reputation. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2007, Lisa was a partner at K&L Gates, where she advised the Foundation and other nonprofits on tax and governance matters for federal and state tax and governance organizations. Lisa was Chair of the American Bar Association`s Tax Section Committee on Exempt Organizations from 2017 to 2019 and a Fellow of the American Law Institute (ALI), where she is currently a consultant for ALI`s Restatement of the Law of Charitable Nonprofit Organizations project.

Lisa also taught tax-exempt organizations in the graduate program in taxation at the University of Washington School of Law for several years. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2002, she was a partner and member of the Executive Committee of Preston Gates & Ellis (now known as K&L Gates), where she focused on securities law and private equity investments. Act as the Legal Relations Manager for the Foundation`s Country Office in India, working closely with the management of that office and providing advice and helping to coordinate resources as required.
