As one of the first points of contact for Fisher Legal, Natasha is known for building good client relationships and looks forward to helping you with your legal needs. Melissa Louw joined Fisher Legal in October 2021 and brings over 17 years of experience in exclusive crime defense. Criminal defense is his passion. Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia in 2004 and was admitted as a Advocate of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2005. In 2001, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. With extensive advocacy experience in the Perth region and the Western Australia region in all jurisdictions, Melissa is an asset to us and the Kimberley region. Over the years, she has conducted numerous jury trials, trials and hearings before judges on criminal charges of varying degrees of gravity.

Their understanding of the challenges our clients face matches their passion for advocacy. Melissa loves the Kimberley and has made it her home. Given her skills and commitment to the region, she was a natural choice to assume the role of Chief Counsel of Fisher Legal Kimberley. The feedback we receive is that this is a popular local choice, that it is in demand, and that it produces great results for our clients. Melissa offers an exclusive local criminal defense service that is unmatched for the region. Although based in Broome, Melissa travels to the East Kimberley and Pilbara areas as part of her work for Fisher`s regional legal office. Their local knowledge and experience in the public and private sectors benefit our regional clients in Kimberley as well as our Perth office. Our long-standing practice in Perth (founded in 1994) also continually supports our regional office and so we work closely with Melissa. This gives you and Melissa access to more resources than they would otherwise – access to experts in Perth, juniors, support staff and additional consultants if needed. It also gives our Perth office access to Melissa`s knowledge and experience.

Mr James remained the more injured of the two and was later evacuated by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Broome for treatment. A Balgo resident who thought his brother had fallen ill with witchcraft was acquitted last week of intent to commit serious bodily harm and injure the man he believed to be behind it. Justine Fisher is a director and director of Fisher Legal with over 32 years of experience as a lawyer. Justine has chosen to practice exclusively in the field of criminal defense. His passion is criminal defense. Justine`s experience is vast. For 32 years, she has represented defendants almost exclusively as senior counsel in all jurisdictions – district and superior courts as well as summary courts. Justine has appeared as lead counsel in many major trials – jury trials and others. She has successfully defended murders, manslaughter, importation cases, large-scale drug-related prosecutions, sexual assault cases (historical and otherwise), violent charges, serious traffic accidents resulting in death and others, several charges and cases of perpetrators, cases with great attention – up to confiscation proceedings, controversial injunction proceedings and all sorts of lawsuits defended. Although Justine retains her role as a lawyer, she practices primarily in her role as a lawyer.

This allows them to closely follow your defense`s teamwork from start to trial – if a process is needed. Justine founded the company in 1994. She did so because she wanted to devote her experience exclusively to this area of law. The expansion of their team has allowed us to offer a more comprehensive and transparent defense. In terms of her academic education, Justine holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia. She was admitted to practice at the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1989 and has since devoted her experience to defence. Although Justine is tough, experienced and persistent in the legal community, she strives to provide compassionate service to her clients. It has an excellent track record with its loyal clientele, which is a testament to its commitment to defence over the past 32 years. Solicitor and solicitor in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa Formal admission: Admitted to the High Court as a bar. Mr.

Williams approached Mr. James outside a store in Balgo with a machete in his hand, which he had brought for his “protection.” “I said to Bonny, `Why are you making my brother sick?` Williams told the court. “(Mr. James) said in his own words, if you`re lucky, you can kill a man (with a boomerang),” she said. The medical staff wanted Mr Williams to get on the plane as well, but he refused because he did not want to be on the same flight as Mr James. It took the jury less than two hours to find Mr. Williams not guilty. A boomerang hit Mr. Williams in the head and the axe was thrown with such force that it got stuck in his left arm. Prosecutor Danielle Clarke told Williams he cut off James` unarmed head with a machete at the time. There was a witness to this first collision, the nephew of Mr. Williams, the son of the Broome patient, who said he could not see if any blows had been thrown, but his uncle waved a machete.

The accused also gave to Mr. James the word Kukatja for “foot of the pen”, an evil spirit that was believed to be capable of killing people. He said his sister-in-law told him that his brother had had visions of Mr James from the Balgo community, who said he would kill him. The accused, Neil Williams, 38, told Kununurra District Court last week that his brother was ill at Broome Hospital on July 1, 2015, when he confronted Bonny James, then 64. Fisher Legal had the privilege of welcoming Monica to its team in 2021. Monica is an avid criminal defence lawyer with extensive local and international experience. Monica`s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University in 2011 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University in 2012, her admission to practice followed in 2013. Post admission, while Monica has experience in a number of areas – family law, regulatory law, injunction and criminal compensation – Monica`s passions lie in criminal defense. Her experience in this area is also extensive, as Monica has practiced in a number of criminal defense institutions. Her experience reflects her passion for helping the most vulnerable members of the community.

In addition to her on-site criminal law work, Monica also brings international experience. In 2018, Monica practised in London in the area of health regulation – for the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and the General Dental Council (GDC). All of these tasks involved protecting the public from registrants when it came to allegations of misconduct. What followed was a violent street fight between Mr. Williams and Mr. James after mediation between the two sides did not take place. The two exchanged blows, with Mr. James throwing away his weapons.
