National Police Week is a honour, commemoration and mutual support, allowing law enforcement, survivors and citizens to come together and honour those who have given their lives in the line of duty. National Police K-9 Memorial Service The National Police Dog Foundation, Fraternal Order of Police DC Lodge #1, Courageous Tails, and United for Blue are jointly hosting the 4th Annual K-9 National Police Memorial Service. The memorial service will include a wreath-laying ceremony to honour the memory of fallen K-9 officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and will take place at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, 450 F St. NW Washington DC, 20001. Kennedy signed a proclamation declaring May 15 a day of remembrance for peace officers and the week that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officials from around the world come to Washington, DC to attend a series of events planned in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The memorial service began in 1982 as a gathering of approximately 120 survivors and law enforcement supporters in Senate Park. Decades later, the event, better known as National Police Week, has grown into a series of events that draw thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to the nation`s capital each year.

Police Weekend 2021, hosted by the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum, will feature programs designed to ensure the safety and health of current officers, as well as the 33rd Police Weekend. Annual candlelight vigil in honour of fallen officers whose names were recently added to the memorial. The vigil will take place on Thursday, October 14 at 6 p.m. ET on the National Mall and will also be streamed live on the NLEOMF website, Facebook page and YouTube channel. holds the National Police Survivors Conference.573.346.4911 | cops@nationalcops.org annual commemoration ceremony of National Peace Officers, sponsored by the Fraternal Order of the Grand Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliaries of the Grand Lodge. The memorial service will be held on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. The service primarily honours officers who have recently made the ultimate sacrifice and honours all those fallen. More details will be provided as they become available. The service starts at 12:00 and is expected to last about 3.5 hours. All law enforcement agencies present must wear their badge on their outermost clothing. They must also have two (2) forms of government identification, which must include their department`s identification.

Annual Blue Fair During the annual Blue Fair, first responders gather to remember the contributions of those who served in law enforcement and public safety agencies and ask for additional protection for them in the future. Representatives from federal and local law enforcement and public safety agencies from the Washington, DC metropolitan area and across the country are in attendance. This year`s Blue Mass will be broadcast live from St. Patrick`s Catholic Church in downtown Washington, D.C. on adw.org/event/annual-blue-mass. Hosts Peace Officer Memorial Service at Annual U.S. Candlelight Vigil Capitol.www.policeweek.org The candlelight vigil will honor officers who lost their lives in 2021. The names are read by high-ranking government officials and local, state, and federal law enforcement officials, as well as other related individuals. The vigil will take place on the National Mall between 12th and 14th Streets, NW, and will be broadcast live.

National Police Week is a joint effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring American law enforcement. FOP DC Lodge #1 Tent City Events Tent City will be held again on May 13, 14 and 15 at RFK Stadium, Lot 8. The venue is located at 2400 East Capitol Street S.E., Washington, DC 20003. Teams offer a one-day (1) event consisting of three segments, including team inspection, color display by color guard, and exhibit phase. The show is designed to honour those remembered during National Police Week in the nation`s capital.
