Gaming event licenses allow eligible organizations to raise funds by hosting a single gaming event or series of events. Effective August 25, 2022, licensees will no longer be permitted to scan and email bingo cards in accordance with section 10.5 of the Authorized Charitable Gaming Rules. When applying for and selecting the start date of the event, the processing time specific to the selected license class must be taken into account.

Where additional information is needed to assess an application, the application shall be considered incomplete until such information is received; This can affect processing time. In some cases, additional information may be requested before a license can be granted. If the license is approved, it will be emailed to the licensee using the email address in the “Delivery Method” section of the online application. A community group or organization may be eligible to obtain a licence to host a gaming event that generates revenue for charitable or religious programs and services in British Columbia. A Service BC office can also personally assist with the application process. A license must be requested prior to the scheduled gaming event. Licensees are responsible for following the Authorized Charity Game Rules (PDF) with respect to the gaming event and for using the product to support eligible programs as authorized in the license.
