Is the Law Done Away with God Forbid

You heard them say to the elders, “You shall not commit adultery.” But I tell you, whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; For it is more profitable for you that one of your limbs perishes that your whole body is thrown into hell. And if your right hand leads you to sin, cut it off and throw it away from you; For it is more profitable for you that one of your limbs perishes that your whole body is thrown into hell. God assured that ceremonies could not be performed. He allowed the temple and altar to be destroyed and scattered the Levites throughout the world. These three things were necessary to make sacrifices. To divert the attention of the nation from Israel and the Old Covenant, God made sure that they could not make these sacrifices. (1) They were to be made in the temple. (2) They were to be made on an altar.

And (3) it had to be done by the Levites, and especially by the Aaron family. Do we then invalidate the law by faith? God forbid: Yes, we make the law. Under the New Covenant, the promises of the Abrahamic Covenant are valid, and Abraham is, so to speak, our spiritual father. He is the model of the family with which God first made a covenant, and He obeyed God`s voice (Genesis 26:5). He kept the commandments and laws, and Abraham`s children will do the same! Otherwise, they won`t really be his children. God forbid: Yes, God is true, but every man is a liar; As it is written: That you may be justified in your words and most defeated when you are judged. Paul does not abolish the law! It simply says that the law cannot justify us. Here we see, through the testimony of God Himself, that Abraham fulfilled the conditions of the covenant. Because he did, it was passed on to Isaac to do it as his father had done.

Matthew 5:18–19a 18 For verily, I say unto you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one iota, not a point of the law, shall pass until all things are finished. 19 Therefore, whoever breaks any of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. Although God no longer requires ceremonies, this does not mean that the spiritual intent of these ceremonies is eliminated. Although we no longer have to slaughter an animal, bleed its blood and burn it on an altar, the intention is still to extend these principles. How can we believe that the Ten Commandments have been abolished when the Bible says we must keep the spirit of the law and not the letter? Didn`t Jesus teach us to keep the “spirit” of the law? Isn`t it more difficult to preserve the spirit of the law than to follow the letter? Think; The letter of the Ten Commandments says that we must not commit adultery. The Spirit of the Law that Jesus Himself taught us says that we should not even think about committing adultery in our minds. So, what could be more difficult? The spirit, of course! And yet, the majority of Christians use this as an excuse for not keeping the Ten Commandments. The spirit and the letter are not separate. If you obey the spirit of the law, you also respect the letter. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith, without the acts of the law. 29Is he only the God of the Jews? Aren`t they also pagans? Yes, even pagans: 30 There is a God who will justify circumcision by faith and uncircumcision by faith.

31 Do we therefore invalidate the law by faith? God forbid: Yes, we make the law. “Many will say to me that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and performed many miracles in Your Name?” And then I will explain to them: “I have never known you; Depart from Me, you who practice anarchy! (Matthew 7:22-23) Paul said vehemently: μὴ γένοιτο / mē genoito, which is literally “never to be” and is formulated by Thayer`s Greek lexicon as follows: “a formula that occurs particularly frequently in Paul, far from it! God forbid! And to him who slaps you on the cheek, sacrifice the other; And whoever takes off your coat, forbid not to take your coat too.
